Double Vision

Do you sometimes have double vision? For example, do you sometimes see two bridges to cross, and should you have had a drink or two, thus, do you attempt to cross the wrong bridge? That may become disastrous.

Here is sage advice. Never try to drive a car when you have been to a party that serves alcohol. Never use your cell phone, by hand, while driving. Even better advice; restrain yourself from the use of strong drink and/or cell phone tasks, regardless of the occasion, or the bridge you may have to cross might prove fatal.

Double vision technically is a physical condition that may require skilled attention. Your eyes, normally, are focused to give you single vision to avoid confusion. Your eyes are designed so that you have a pair of ligaments that are focused together serving as a team. They pull together on the same load, or as two electric units serving as a separate unit. This is not double vision, but serves a single purpose.

In your physical body, many functions are arranged in pairs for better functional purposes. For instance, you have two eyes, tow ears, two hands, two feet. In contrast, you have only one nose and one tongue so that they can function better and not get into other people's business.

How wise was the Creator for all concerned! Have you ever given thought to what has been called God's masterpiece? Have you considered your own body and how it works for a single purpose?

There are two decidedly separate, yet important, elements that work together for the common good of all. These are the spinal column, formed of many separate elements. The spinal column has 24 movable vertebrae to which all major muscles and ligaments are attached. These vertebrae are separated by padding of cartilage called discs that act as shock absorbers besides giving flexibility to the spine.

The other separate element, yet vital structure, is the nervous system that stems from the brain and spinal cord. Through this medium sensation is flashed to the brain and responds with mental impulses directing all functions and activities of the body in what is termed a state of health.

Is this not a wonderful design? The spinal column is the key to the spinal nervous system which conveys an intelligent force that directs and controls all bodily functions and activities of this creation - God's masterpiece.

Tillers Of The Soil

Early in the history of our race, men became tillers of the soil. They had to in order to sustain life.

Perhaps in the beginning men were hunters and gatherers, while women were the first gardeners. Domestication of cattle and other animals, plus tilling the soil made possible all future advancement. It forced men to invent tools for working the land as well as harvesting the crops. This also created other industries.

The possession of land was the beginning of wealth, and perhaps slavery (both black and white), for land without labor was useless. Title deeds to land made the owners master of all they could possess. Possession and conquest lead to wars and trained soldiers or guardsmen to maintain control. The history of the race has many scars and many aggressive deeds that mar the higher ideals of man.

Ownership of a home with a little land to till makes every family feel fulfilled and is a step toward happiness.  An ironic quote: "Only he knows perfect joy, whose little bit of soil is richer ground than what it was when he began to toil."

Growing things that are good to eat gives to life its greatest reward and makes one proud of what he has done to make this axiom true.

When this great nation was young, 80% of its people lived on farms and tilled the soil. As time has gone on, the percentage has reversed and now the majority of the newer generations live in cities. Often, in congested areas, crime and moral decline are making inroads in our nation and world that is very disturbing.

Another thing is also true. The health of the nation has suffered in various ways. Hypertension, nervous breakdowns, gastric ulcers, headaches, and other symptoms are marring life and leading to dangerous drug habits, encouraged by doctors with liberal prescription pads. Thus, pain killers, pep pills and other "prescription" drugs are too frequently used resulting in dangerous side effects. This being true, what is the way out?

Try living your life naturally. Do a better way of regaining health without the use of drugs. The body is God's masterpiece because of the uniqueness of its design and its ability to sustain and heal itself from within outward, when the way is clear for its normal expression.

To simplify this idea, the nervous system is to the body what the ignition system is to your car. It adds life or service as the case may be. The nervous system conveys sensation to the brain and responding mental impulses to all parts of the body which direct activity and function. Should nerve changes become blocked to a degree, life and function are also impaired resulting in dis-ease, want of ease, and need to be corrected.

Time and Life

Time is as vital as life itself, yet time is different in relation to the laws of the universe.

Time is an element of eternity. It may be recorded in split seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, or even eons.

Life is a minor element of time shared alike by everyone. The only difference is the length of its span and purpose.

Time may be used either constructively or consumed to no advantage. Some people waste time; others mark time, unable to make decisions; some procrastinate with little purpose in life, not realizing that time once recorded is gone forever.

Time, like talents, must be invested wisely to bring about the best returns. Time wasted is like talents buried. No one profits, least of all the one who squanders his or her time to no purpose.

Time is of greatest value when organized and made to serve a dual purpose or multiple needs. The organization of time requires skill, thought, planning, and the elimination of lost motion so that a maximum of benefit may be obtained with a minimum of effort.

To appreciate time in its fullest measure requires normal health and cooperation with the laws of nature which govern all things in the universe.

Your body is said to be God's masterpiece. In a measure all the laws of nature are expressed therein through the various functions of the body. These functions are regulated and controlled through the medium of the nervous system that stems from the brain and spinal cord.

Anatomically, the spine is the strength and support of the body. It holds you erect; it supports the head that houses the brain. The spine also encases the spinal cord and provides openings between the vertebrae through witch all nerve bundles emit before separating into countless fibers that provide a medium of communication between brain cell and tissue cell, akin to an electric circuit between power plant or modern home.

To provide electric service, the circuit must be unbroken; in your body nerve channels must be clear so sensation can reach the brain freely enabling responding mental impulses to direct and regulate function in the glands, organs, and muscles of the body.

On occasions, due to spinal shocks and/or strains, nerves are "pinched". This in turn disturbs function, lowers resistance and in time can result in dis-ease regardless of the diagnosis or the treatment employed.

A Perfect Pattern

What is essential for a perfect fit, a pleasing style, and happy results? The answer is to have an excellent pattern to go by.

In building a house, creating a new invention, or accomplishing anything in life, a good idea and a perfect plan are essential for best results.

This fact holds true in everything. It is especially true in creating your life's pattern or reaching a higher goal, or being your better self which is a worthy ambition that you should always strive to attain.

Of course perfection is seldom reached. But, it is something to shoot for and there is great satisfaction in almost reaching your objective. Anything less than your best is unworthy. You have to think high to rise, and this is very true if you expect to win the prize.

Perhaps you will say your handicap in life is ill health, that you live on aspirins and other drugs you have been prescribed by doctors.

No wonder you have health problems. Can you expect great good from a wrong course? Can there be anything near perfection in a pattern unsound in principle? Drugs merely blind you to effect and actually correct nothing. Perhaps you realize this but continue to rationalize, "What can I do? I must have relief."

Look at it this way. Your body has been called God's masterpiece because of its marvelous design. Consider the dexterity of the hands and fingers. The marvel of sight and hearing, the beauty of form. The miracle of thought and memory, the wonders of digestion which is the changing of common food into living, loving flesh, blood and bones, hair, skin and nails. Also consider the additional fact of the healing of injuries or diseases and the supplying of nourishment when and where needed. These represent perfection to the highest degree. Had you thought of that?

But, you still may continue to protest that your body is out of tune with nature's plan. What can you do about it? The pattern may be perfect, but what about the means of keeping it so? What is it that directs and controls all bodily function? This is done through the nervous system. The nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord plus its bundles of spinal nerves that emit from openings between the vertebrae. In this masterful arrangement the spinal column encases the spinal cord. Through these openings nerve bundles emit before separating into countless tiny fibers that form a direct medium of contact between the brain cells and tissue cells.

Through this medium, all sensation is communicated to the brain where the message in interpreted and responding mental impulses direct and control all bodily activity, in a normal state of health. But sometimes due to spinal strain due to postural difficulties, or from accident related trauma, a vertebrae may be displaced to a degree so that nerves are "pinched". That disturbs function, lowers resistance, and results in dis-ease, with its various symptoms which may induce you to employ pain killers and kindred methods to reduce pain.

There is a better way! Clearly, a natural methodology would be the utilization of chiropractic to restore a more perfect pattern. This is done by hand only, to correct the cause thus opening the way toward better health and a more abundant and higher
quality of life.
